One of our most popular angling kayaks- the Moken 12.5 has been given a refresh and brought bang up to date, featuring a fully adjustable seating system and removable sonar pod. At close to 13ft in length, this kayak can cover longer distances, but is still short enough to make it manoeuvrable when close into shore and still be in the realm of lifting onto a car roof rack with one person. Designed for inland fishing, it can also be used on sheltered coastal waters and is fully capable of coping with small chop.
Just over 80cm wide, the Moken 12.5 is extremely stable, which should appeal to anglers less confident at paddle sport or those taking their first steps into kayak fishing. This kayak is considered so stable some anglers will cast from a standing position, and Feelfree have included a non-slip surface in centre of the boat for improved traction when stood.
Packed with proven features, the V2 Moken 12.5 has amongst other great ideas a raised, adjustable seat system, built in wheel and generous storage capacity. This version also has a removable sonar pod situated between the paddler’s feet. This allows simple fish-finder installation without the need for drilling through the boats hull and allows all the electronics and wiring to be located in one handy pod, that can be easily removed after a days fishing.
Overall, the improvements to this kayak should mean it continues with its popularity for many years to come and give the kayak angler a great all-round platform on which to modify and customize, ready to meet their individual requirements in pursuit of the next big catch!
