Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL
Sitting in the middle of Old Towns PDL fishing kayak collection, the Sportsman PDL 120 boasts a convenient size of 12 feet in length. It strikes a harmonious balance between weight, speed, and manoeuvrability. Similar to the other models in the PDL range, the 120 showcases a fully adjustable Element seat system, a dependable pedal-drive, and a remarkably stable 'double-U' shaped hull. With the ability to swiftly switch to reverse drive by pedalling backwards and a factory fitted rudder system for effortless steering, this kayak offers exceptional versatility.
Old Town has incorporated numerous kayak-angler friendly features into the PDL 120 to guarantee a seamless and enjoyable on-water experience. For those who wish to equip their kayak with a fish-finder, this can be accomplished effortlessly without the need to drill through the hull of the 120. By utilizing the pre-existing t-track rails adjacent to the dedicated scupper hole for the transducer, one can easily install or remove a head-unit, transducer, mounts, and cabling as desired.
The 120 was specifically designed to cater to the bass fishing market in the United States. While the UK may not have as many opportunities for inland bass fishing, the 120 is an excellent choice for targeting various other freshwater species. Its hull provides exceptional stability, and the deck is equipped with non-slip matting, allowing anglers to stand up from the raised seat and make longer casts. This feature also enables them to manoeuvre fish away from potential obstacles such as snags and underwater obstructions. Although the Sportsman PDL kayaks are primarily intended for inland water use, they can still be effectively utilized in sheltered coastal areas on calm days without any swell or surf.
