Hobie Eclipse
Another World’s first from Hobie. Taking a closer look at the evermore popular sport of stand up paddle boarding, Hobie have worked out how to integrate their incredible and unique Mirage Drive System into a SUP board. This allows the user to use the Eclipse as a traditional paddle powered SUP but also as a pedal driven SUP. This Drive System provides a more efficient means of propulsion, allowing greater speeds, and the ability to cover distances with greater ease.
Easy to steer using fingertip controls mounted on the handlebars, these bars also give the paddler/peddler some extra support and aids with balance for first time users.
Available in two sizes to suit different sized paddlers. The larger of the boards- the Eclipse 12 only weighs 26.7KG’s this allows either to be easily transported to and from the water, and also transported on a car roof rack for trips away.
The Mirage Drive is simple to use, quiet and creates no splash, ideal for not disturbing wildlife or fish whilst out on the water.
Both feet sit comfortably on the pedals, for speedy, effortless, back-and-forth motions.
The strongest muscles in the body (the legs) produce much more power rather than using just your arms on a traditional SUP.
All Hobie Kayaks and SUP’s can be either pedalled or paddled. The rudder can be locked in the central position, the handlebars removed and then the Eclipse becomes a stable traditional style SUP that can be paddled using a SUP paddle (not supplied).
