Enigma Canoes Turing 17
The Turing 17 is the largest canoe in the Enigma range, with a great balance of load capacity and paddling efficiency. The Turing 17 is perfect for long expeditions eating up the miles with no problems, and still paddles great when fully loaded with equipment. It is also a popular choice with hire operators due to its durability, reliability and the option of a third, centre seat.
Perfect for long distance paddling, thanks to its long waterline length. And overnight camping trips can be easily accommodated thanks to its large carrying capacity (500kg). The shape is a UK classic and was originally known as the Peace River Cruiser. The Turing 17 is manufactured from the same mould and made locally to us here at Manchester Canoes.
The Turing 17 has a flattish hull with a slight curvature and rocker allowing for manoeuvrability when required, but focusing mainly on making forward paddling more efficient. The 17 paddles remarkably well for a large canoe and should be considered if 15 or 16 foot open boats don’t quite have the capacity you are looking for.
We also offer the Turing 17 with plastic seat options for added durability if the boat is going to be used frequently, such as outdoor centre settings.
