Varnished Ash Thwart
Thwarts add rigidity to an open boat, and are also useful for carrying, loading and strapping in equipment. Some open boats come supplied with thwarts, others are added as optional extras or upgrades. The thwart will require a thwart fitting kit listed below unless replacing an existing thwart and retaining the metal hardware.

Deluxe Yoke for more comfort on long portages due to it’s larger surface area. A High quality pre varnished ash yoke which is ergonomically sculpted to fit your shoulders comfortably. Supplied oversized and should be cut to length. (should fit all Canoes supplied from Manchester Canoes) You may require a Bolt Kit to attach the yoke, see hardware below.

Oiled Regular Ash Yoke
Traditionally used for carrying open boats solo across the shoulders. Most modern canoe manufacturers fit a factory fit a yoke to improve hull rigidity and strength .These yokes are constructed from high quality ash and come supplied ready oiled and should be cut to length.(should fit all Canoes supplied from Manchester Canoes) You may require a Bolt Kit to attach the yoke, see hardware below.

Oiled Ash Kneeling Thwart Kit
More advanced solo paddlers may wish to add a kneeling thwart. The addition of one will lower the centre of gravity, increasing stability and power through the stroke. These thwarts are supplied extra long so they can be cut to length, therefore able to fit the majority of open boats sold at Manchester Canoes. Supplied as a full kit including bolts and hangers.

Oiled Ash Canoe Handle
A replacement handle for your canoe, made from high quality ash and supplied oiled. The Handle is 255mm in length and will require cutting to size to fit your canoe. You will also require some fixings as below, unless you a reusing existing fittings from an old handle.

Canoe Outboard Motor Mount
A pre oiled ash canoe motor mount. Securing under your canoe gunnels by tightening the two wing nuts. Will fit most Canadian canoes but may require some trimming for a perfect fit. Length 830mm. Width 55mm. Block size: 135mm x 73mm x 55 mm
