The Palm Mistral Jacket is a versatile midweight paddling cag, designed for inland touring, recreational kayaking, canoeists. Developed for those seeking dependable weather protection without the constraints of a complete dry cag or full drysuit. This updated version of the Mistral is constructed from Seawastex® XP 2.5-layer fabric, Palm's PFAS-free recycled waterproof material. This new material enhances environmental responsibility, whilst preserving the original comfort and usability that established the original Mistral as a great all-purpose paddling jacket.
Constructed from lightweight yet breathable fabric, the Mistral delivers good waterproofing and breathability suited to variable weather conditions and dynamic paddling activities. Its ergonomic cut is engineered to accommodate the paddling position, helping to provide unrestricted movement across the shoulders and torso during paddle strokes. A defining characteristic of the Mistral is the adjustable venting collar, which permits opening for enhanced ventilation or securing into a semi-dry seal if the wetaher closes in. This feature proves particularly valuable for paddlers desiring superior comfort relative to latex neck gaskets, whilst maintaining adequate weather protection. Latex wrist gaskets with adjustable cuffs provide effective water eprotection at the wrists, and twin-waist system functions in conjunction with a spraydeck, to minimize water entering the cockpit area.
