The Swift Lavieille 17.6 is a purpose-built, high-volume tripping canoe designed for paddlers who need space, performance, and versatility on extended back country adventures. At 17 feet 6 inches in length, the Lavieille offers excellent glide and efficiency on flat water, while its asymmetric shape features a subtle rocker (2" bow / 1.5" stern) provides responsive handling in wind and waves. The hull features flared ends that allow the bow and stern seats to be set further toward the tips of the canoe, freeing up a remarkably spacious centre section for gear, pets, or a third paddler. The centre seat is tucked neatly behind the yoke, making it comfortable and practical for both paddling and trim, ideal for solo paddling. This thoughtful layout makes the Lavieille ideal for families, tripping parties, or paddlers who simply want more room without sacrificing performance.

Constructed using Swift’s premium composite laminates—including Kevlar Fusion, Carbon Fusion, and Expedition layups—the Lavieille is exceptionally light for its size. With weights starting from 19kg depending on materials, extras and configuration, it’s easy to carry across portages and onto roof racks, despite its generous dimensions. Its durable, rigid hull ensures excellent load-carrying capacity, making it a true workhorse for long-distance wilderness travel.
