Ocean Kayaks Frenzy
The Malibu 2 from Ocean Kayak has proven to be one of the bestselling tandem sit-on-top kayaks ever made. The stable hull design combined with tough, durable high-density materials and top of the range outfitting have contributed to its ongoing popularity and demand. Whilst the original hull shape has remained the same, the Malibu Two has had an upgrade on the on-deck features. These include built-in AirGo seat pads and base pads, and simple to use ‘Quickstash’ round, watertight hatches. Additional storage can be found in the bow and stern tank-wells, where heavy duty bungee-cord can be used to secure any gear.
The three dedicated seating positions, allows for the Mal 2 to be either paddled solo or tandem, and the centre ‘skidpan’ seat allows for a little person to join the grown-ups on days out. Manoeuvring the kayak on land or onto a car roofrack can be achieved using the solid side-carry handles, or bow/stern toggles. On the water, the kayak is stable, tracks well and simple to paddle, even for first timers.
