P&H Ultralight Sea Kayaks

With over 50 years of kayak building experience. P&H Custom Sea Kayaks are highly regarded, not only for their thoughtful designs, but also for the quality of build, and use of up-to-date, modern materials.

Ultralight P&H sea kayaks utilise classic designs, such as the Cetus, Virgo and the recently developed Volan and offer these in a variety of different layups, including Ultralight. For example, a P&H Virgo in the Classic construction will weigh around 24.5kg, whereas a Virgo in Ultralight construction will weigh around 16.5kg. Offering a weight saving of around a third. If you then compare an Ultralight Virgo to a plastic, roto-moulded Virgo, the weight is almost halved. 

The P&H Ultralight is their lightest ever construction, and is achieved by using carbon fibre and kevlar materials in the boat's construction. These materials are incredibly lightweight, but still offer huge strength and stiffness to the boat's hull. Not only are these ultralight sea kayaks a joy to carry and lift onto roof-rack systems, they also paddle exceptionally well. Lightweight, stiff kayaks are responsive to the paddlers movements, easier to turn and outperform heavier kayaks, even on shorter trips.

A sea kayak that is easier to transport, and carry to/from the water encourages more use, and most paddlers would agree that reducing the hassle and thought of carrying a heavier kayak would be of benefit to most.

Once your new ultralightweight boat has come through production, we will collect it from the factory, and move it back to here at Manchester Canoes. Your new boat will then be available for collection from our showroom (open 6 days a week), or we can look into delivery options for you. Composite boats tend not to fare so well when shipped with 3rd party couriers, so we only offer delivery on composite sea kayaks using our own transport and staff to ensure they arrive with you in A1 condition. 

We offer bespoke delivery to any UK mainland address, or we can move the kayak on our internal transport for collection at one of our sister stores, located around the south of the UK:
