Islander Bolero
Available in two lengths- 14ft and 15ft the Bolero is a nice compromise between short (10ft) touring kayaks and full size (17ft) sea kayaks. Perfect for maintaining a good level of speed to cover the miles, short enough to allow for easy manoeuvring and handling, and still have enough storage capacity to pack kit for overnight camping trips.
The larger of the two sizes will suit taller/heavier paddlers, whilst the shorter 14 footer is better suited to lighter/smaller paddlers. The adjustable SlideLock footbrace system offers the ability to change the length even on the move, giving the opportunity for the paddler to stretch their legs during long crossings. The cockpit rim and seat has padding for extra comfort.
Similarly to the smaller Islander Jive the Bolero is a closed cockpit kayak suitable for the vast array of different water bodies found throughout the UK, be that calm coastal routes, lakes or canals. With a drop down skeg fitted as standard, the Bolero can track nicely on windy days when the skeg is deployed into the down position.
