Enigma Canoes Prospector 17
The largest canoe from the Enigma line-up, the Prospector 17 is a true workhorse. Well suited for tandem paddling or with the addition of an extra seat allows families to get out on the water. With a huge carrying capacity (500+kgs), the 17 can carry a huge amount of kit or with extra seats fitted, additional passengers.
Keeping true to the classic Prospector hull shape with a moderate rocker and a forgiving slight V along the keel ,putting it at home on a variety of water types from slow moving rivers, lakes or canals through to low grade white water. Widely considered to be the best all-round canoe shape, the Prospector is a great general purpose canoe for a variety of conditions.
Although the 17 can be paddles solo, those looking for a lighter weight canoe, with less carrying capacity but increased manoeuvrability then take a look at the Enigma Prospector 16.
All Enigma boats are manufactured locally to us at Manchester Canoes and constructed of high quality materials, including the ash outfitting. Alongside growing families, the Prospector 17 is also favoured by outdoor centres and rental operators. With wood-web or more robust plastic seats, there are several outfitting options.
